Summary
In Plain English: AudioSet doesn't collect, transmit, or store any of your personal information on our servers. Everything stays on your Mac. You have complete control over your data, and you can delete it anytime by uninstalling the app. We take your privacy seriously by simply not collecting any data in the first place.
Data Collection
AudioSet does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app operates entirely on your local device.
Purchase Information
All purchase transactions are handled directly by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information or purchase history. Apple manages all billing and subscription data in accordance with their privacy policy.
Audio Device Information
AudioSet accesses information about your audio devices through macOS's CoreAudio framework. This information includes:
- Audio device names
- Device connection status
- Current active audio devices
This data is only used locally on your device to provide audio switching functionality. No audio device information is transmitted to us or any third parties.
Local Storage
The app stores the following data locally on your Mac:
- Device preferences: Your starred and banned audio devices
- User settings: Launch at login preference, notification settings
- User preferences: Stored in ~/Library/Preferences/
All of this data remains on your device and is never transmitted elsewhere.
System Permissions
AudioSet requires the following macOS permissions to function:
- Audio Control: To switch between audio devices and monitor device status
- Accessibility (Optional): To enable global keyboard shortcuts for device switching
These permissions are only used for the app's core functionality and no data is collected or transmitted.
Third-Party Services
AudioSet does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
Application Integration
AudioSet integrates with music playback applications (Apple Music, Spotify, VLC) to automatically resume playback when switching audio devices. This integration:
- Only occurs when you actively switch devices
- Uses macOS's standard AppleScript/scripting bridge
- Does not collect or transmit any information about what you're playing
- Can be disabled by removing playback resume functionality
Children's Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is designed for general macOS users and does not target children under 13.
