Privacy Policy for Simple FTP Tether

In Plain English: Simple FTP Tether doesn't collect, transmit, or store any of your personal information on our servers. Everything stays on your Mac. You have complete control over your data, and you can delete it anytime by uninstalling the app. We take your privacy seriously by simply not collecting any data in the first place.
Data Collection
Simple FTP Tether does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app operates entirely on your local device.
Purchase Information
All purchase transactions are handled directly by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information or purchase history. Apple manages all billing and subscription data in accordance with their privacy policy.
Trial System
Trial period information is stored locally on your device using UserDefaults (a standard iOS/macOS storage mechanism). This information includes:
- First launch date
- Trial status
This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third parties.
Network Access
The FTP server feature runs locally on your device only. When you enable the FTP server:
- It only accepts connections from devices you explicitly configure
- All file transfers occur directly between your Mac and your connected devices
- No data is sent to external servers or cloud services
- You control which folders are accessible via the FTP server
File Access
Simple FTP Tether only accesses folders and files that you explicitly select using macOS's file picker. The app:
- Reads image files from your selected folder(s) to display in the gallery
- Reads and writes EXIF/XMP metadata when you edit image information
- Stores a local database of image information in your Mac's Application Support folder
- Never uploads files to external servers
- Never accesses files outside the folders you select
Local Storage
The app stores the following data locally on your Mac:
- Image database: Stored in ~/Library/Application Support/PhotoFTPGallery/image_tracker.json
- Autocomplete data: Stored in ~/Library/Application Support/PhotoFTPGallery/autocomplete_data.txt
- User preferences: Stored in ~/Library/Preferences/
All of this data remains on your device and is never transmitted elsewhere.
Third-Party Services
Simple FTP Tether does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
Children's Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is designed for professional photographers and does not target children under 13.
Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
